Quadriceps femoris muscle, large fleshy muscle group covering the front and sides of the thigh. It has four parts: rectus femoris, vastus lateralis, vastus medialis, and vastus intermedius. They originate at the ilium (upper part of the pelvis, or hipbone) and femur (thighbone), come together in a tendon surrounding the patella (kneecap), and insert at (are attached to) the tibia (shinbone). These muscles extend the legs at the knee and are important for standing, walking, and almost all activities involving the legs.

Squats, pullups, and dips!

What’s in your gym bag?
All of the essentials! (Intra WO drink, water, belt, chalk, notebook, and of course versa grips!)

What do you like to do outside of the gym?
Shooting at the gun range and when the weathers nice I’ll find any excuse to be outside whether it’s laying out in the sun or going on a hike.

Biggest gym pet peeve
Sitting on a machine and texting! I can’t even!

Do you have any hero’s or mentors in the sport?
Women with great work ethic and patience. The ones who show both their weaknesses and strengths equally and those that do not only glorify the good about themselves.

Tell us a little bit about yourself, your background, and how you came about in the industry
I’m 22 years old. I’m also first generation Ukrainian-American and was brought up by a father who was a boxer so naturally I was a tomboy as a little girl. This helped manifest my love of sports and competitive nature. I always felt compelled to play at the level of all the other boys my age and when grade school came I was put into every sport I could participate in. I enjoyed staying active but as I got older and acquired a job, I felt the need to join a gym in order to continue staying active. Weight training gave me a feeling I quickly became obsessed with. I feel strong in the gym! It’s an environment that gives me confidence as well as serving as a therapeutic outlet. The progress and change I have made, not only in body composition, but in strength alone was enough verification for me that this was a passion I could not and will not ever let go of.
